Home Learning

Home learning is extremely important to help the children develop their confidence and to aid them in continuing their learning at home.

Children have a number of weekly homework tasks which include:

-Reading nightly

-Practising spelling patterns and year group spellings

-Practising times tables

-Homework task for the week

In the front of the children's homework book you will find their weekly homework for the half term. Their homework will have two tasks- which will change weekly, covering Topic, English, Grammar and Maths.

Homework books are given out on a Monday and are expected to be back in school on a Friday.

READY.... STEADY.... READERS!

As a school target we are working to become 'Ready Steady Readers'. Please help your child read at home and share a book with them as much as possible. Our new reward system in class rewards them for how many times they read at home.

READY- Children who have read 5 times at home.

STEADY- Children who have read 10 times at home.

READERS- Children who have read 15 times at home.

At the end of the half term all of the children who have achieved the readers level of the reward chart will be rewarded. The reward will be negotiated and decided between the children and Miss Smith.
