Home Learning

Home learning is a very important part of being a member of Class 3. It help us to develop our independent learning and consolidate our skills outside of lessons.

Home learning tasks will be set on a Monday and should be completed by Friday.

These include

  • Spelling patterns and activities
  • Grammar activities and games
  • Maths basic skills or revision
  • Reading every night

As well as this, children will be given a 'Topic Home Learning' sheet with a range of activities to choose from and complete over the course of the term.

Please use the resources below to help you with your home learning.

In 2014 the government published revised lists of spellings that they expect children to be able to spell by the end of their time at primary school.

In the front of your child's home learning book is the word list for year 3/4. The spellings your child can do are highlighted in pink. Please take the time to learn these with your child as they should know them before moving onto the year 5/6 list.

In class three we are working on the year 5/6 word list. This will be added to your child's home learning book when they are secure with most of the year 3/4 words.

It is essential that your child can confidently spell and understand these words.
