We have been learning about 3D shapes this week. We revised the names of many different shapes, sorted shapes based on their properties, and used our reasoning to build and present the tallest and strongest towers we could.
Measurement
We have been learning all about measurement. The Red and Blue groups have been ordering, comparing and measuring lots of objects using non-standard units. The Yellow group has been practising how to read scales and measure in cm and m. All of the children have been impressing the teachers with their use of mathematical vocabulary too!
Months of the Year
We finished our topic on time by learning all about the days of the week and the months of the year. We learned when everybody's birthdays were and created a calendar. The red and blue groups learned a song and taught it to the rest of the class to help us remember the order of the months. Take a look!

Telling the time
Miss Dowell's group have been learning to read different clocks and to write the time at o'clock and half past. They have blown our socks off with their hard work! Mrs Holliday's group have been learning to tell the time at 5 minute intervals and even made a human analogue clock!
2D Shape Hunt
We have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes. We used our iPads to hunt for different shapes around the school. We looked for squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, pentagons, hexagons and ovals.
Crocodile Maths!
This week we looked at ordering and comparing numbers. We learned about Charlie the Crocodile, who likes to eat the biggest number, to help us use the < and > signs correctly. We enjoyed our maths lesson outside munching big numbers and making a human number line!
